Cozzani valves at the CCS frontier

The Cozzani team puts its long-standing expertise in CO₂ compression at the disposal of SIAD and its customers. Throughout the years, Cozzani optimized its valve designs in all the most challenging environments, such as dirty CO₂ compression, high-pressure carbon dioxide applications, CO₂ for the food & beverage industry, and wet CO₂ compression.
Expertise in CO₂ applications was key in the CCS project with SIAD Macchine Impianti (SIAD MI).

The challenge with wet CO₂ lies in high corrosivity, for which Cozzani’s expertise in material selection ensures high compression reliability. In such an aggressive environment, the choice of thermoplastic internal sealing is the most appropriate for extending valve lifetime.

Cozzani & SIAD MI partnership dates back to the 1960s. Since then, Cozzani helped in designing, selecting, and manufacturing compressor valves for a variety of applications, such as technical gases and oxygen, BOG applications, and CO₂ compression.

The collaboration between Cozzani and SIAD MI demonstrates the value of an Italian supply chain for energy transition, able to positively impact end users, local communities, and the environment, by storing a large amount of Carbon Dioxide and preventing it from being released into the air.
